Swimming

Swimming Data report 2023-2024 For the academic year 2023-2024, Year 4 attended swimming lessons at Fullwell Cross Baths during the spring term. All children in year 4 could swim at least 5m after the 7 week block of lessons. Below is a summary of the overall data for our 2024-year 4 cohort’s abilities to swim:

Children able to swim between 5m-10m 10/60 17%

Children who can swim between 10m-25m 20/60 33%

Children who can swim 25m+ 21/60 35 %

Children who can swim multiple lengths of 25m+ 9/60 15%

 

We use some of our sports premium funding to provide swimming boosters for children in Year 5 who have not achieved the 5m swim.

Below is a summary of the overall data for our 2024 year 5 cohorts booster session for those who could not swim 5m unaided:

Children able to swim 5m unaided 15/26 58%

Children who can swim 10m unaided 9/26 34%

Children who can swim 25m+ 2/26 8%

Plan for 2024-2025 academic year

We have booked for year 4 to attend the intense swimming programme in the summer term. There will also be additional booster sessions for children in years 5 and 6 who cannot swim between 5m -10m. This will provide 25 children with this opportunity. The aspiration is for all children to leave Manford Primary to be able to swim 25m unaided.
